SKHY

SKHY is an urban renewal project in Uptown Auckland which resulted in the conversion of an old mall post office and commercial tower into a chic, modern destination. Parts of the concrete frame were left exposed to create a sleek industrial environment that speaks to the mixed-use nature of the development. These supports then extend beyond the perimeter of the main tower to create a landmark architectural statement within the skyline. This project was a winner at the 2020 New Zealand Architecture Awards.

FABRIC of ONEHUNGA

Consisting of three four-storey apartment buildings sitting upon an old industrial site, FABRIC used landscaping, shared spaces and a masterplan connected by a series of paths and courtyards to create a pocket neighbourhood that introduced Aucklanders to European successes of medium-density living. Only a couple of blocks from the heart of Onehunga, the train station and regenerated foreshore, FABRIC of ONEHUNGA has created a local community that its residents are proud to be a part of. This development was shortlisted for the 2021 Property Council Awards.

A letter from the Architects
Matt Downs, Jasmax

Being invited to work with Lamont & Co on Symphony303 was an exciting prospect, to be able to build upon a track record of award-winning projects that have made a positive contribution to their communities and the lives of their residents. As architects and designers we seek opportunities in every project to make spaces that contribute authentically to the essence of a place, enhance the experiences of the people that inhabit them and build upon our collective knowledge on how to design with as little impact on the environment as possible. Symphony303 had all the ingredients to produce something really special.
